As part of its business strategy, E-Gas required a procedure manual to record all its systems.
Lyn Emerson from Dalyn Software Ltd was asked to produce the document detailing the work processes, both manual and automated. In October 2004, it was successfully completed to our personal satisfaction. The manual has been produced in printed format and a soft copy has been made available to ensure that new information may be incorporated later as systems change.
The manual covers processes that are both diverse and comprehensive in scope. It is separated into three major sections covering Customer Proceedings, Gas Allocation and Accounting, with 15 chapters in total. The format includes a detailed contents page, numbered headings, bullet pointed information, screen shots throughout and appendices located at the end of each chapter.
The information was gathered by communicating with relevant staff and examining the existing documentation. It was then written, categorised and formatted. Staff had opportunities to comment at different stages of the manual production and Lyn asked questions to ensure that the workflow processes in the manual flowed logically and smoothly. The full version of the manual was made available to staff for perusal before the completed version was produced and duplicated.
As the document is confidential and for in-house use only, a copy of Lyn Emerson's work can only be viewed by appropriate appointment on our premises with myself. I can confidently recommend Lyn Emerson from Dalyn Software Ltd to anyone requiring a Procedure Manual. Lyn's interaction with staff has been conducted in a professional and thorough manner and the end result is a product we are delighted with.
